The Betrothed and her husband live in the famous Antediluvian Castle in the countryside of northern Wisconsin. Flaurie, with her pistol, and Flanders, with his Gilded Saber, are called of God to be griffin-slayers. The wicked griffins are at war against all Christians on and off the battlefields. But a dream girl named ‘Carol Bree Dale,’ is coming for Flanders, and her mystique in Flanders’s life is coming between him and his Betrothed.

The Daughters of Aphrodite—Gravel, Gretchen, Grandy, Grey, and Gree—are called of God to protect The Tome of Hymns, the world’s last hymnbook. They must keep safe this last hymnal from the griffins, the demons, who want to burn it up with fire from their beaks. Beelzebub—the griffin of griffins—wants to take hymns out of this Earth. To share in this ministry of the five Daughters of Aphrodite, their five unicorns and their five warrior boyfriends must take on these griffins in great battle between good and evil. And the final battle between good and evil takes place in the Palatial Palace—the home of Aphrodite and her daughters.

My collection of Christian short stories, numbering one hundred in all, I affectionately call ‘My Canon of Horsetails and Cattails.’ And my collection of Christian novels, numbering fifteen in all, I affectionately call ‘My Canon of Griffins and Unicorns.’ And my pen name—Flanders Nickels—I came up with from nowhere some time back in the mid-1980’s. And my writing ministry for God I happily call ‘My Canon Ministry.’ I use only the King James Version Bible. And I am a fundamental Baptist. I hope that you have fun reading for free on this website. And I myself became a born-again believer in Christ in a most wondrous time around Christmas in 1990 in a soul-changing twelve days which I fondly call ‘My Twelve Days of Christmas.’ It is written, ‘”…, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,…” Acts 16:31.’
